As a spunky Chinese American girl growing up, I didn't see enough creators who looked like me represented in apparel or design when shopping through the aisles and browsing online. The "Model Minority Myth" has boxed the Asian American community into a few paths: doctor, lawyer, engineer - while these professions are great, the creative ones are just as worth celebrating. We're not creative despite being Asian American, but because we're Asian American.
We at AA BATTERIES collaborate with Asian American designers to ensure they are properly represented & financially compensated.
